New York Jets looking to add a Quarterback via the 2018 NFL Draft?
By Jon Dove
The New York Jets missed out on landing a marquee quarterback in the free agency period and will now need to look towards the 2018 NFL Draft to fill that need.
There was talk that the New York Jets were legitimate contenders to land Kirk Cousins. However, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings leaving the Jets to bring back Josh McCown. They are also rumored to be bring in Teddy Bridgewater, but look for them to attack the 2018 NFL Draft.
McCown is nothing more than a stop-gap solution and the lack of a market for Bridgewater raises questions about his health.
The Jets are obviously ready to move on from Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty. This means they need to bring in a young quarterback to develop for the future. It’s possible that the Jets sit back and see who falls to them at pick No. 6.
However, it seems more likely that they make an aggressive move up the draft. The New York Giants (No. 2), Indianapolis Colts (No.3) and the Cleveland Browns (No. 4) are all candidates to trade down.

There are a handful of teams that will be competing with the Jets for the top quarterbacks in the NFL Draft. The Browns (No. 1) and Denver Broncos (No. 5) are the first two that come to mind. However, the Arizona Cardinals (No. 13) and Buffalo Bills (No. 14) are also lurking.
The Bills are expected to be the most aggressive on draft day thanks to their need at the position and high number of draft picks.
New York has to walk a thin line as they lay their plans. They might not be able to sit back and wait to see who falls into their lap. It will ultimately come down to how the Jets value the different quarterback prospects in this draft.
