Strength: Throwing Accuracy

One could assume this based on the previous point made about anticipatory throws. It must be stated, however, that when Kyle Lauletta has his shoulders squared and his base at the ideal width, he can put the ball just about anywhere on the field.

The deep ball mechanics will continue to be a question mark until they aren’t, but Lauletta can take over a game with his pure passing ability.

When Lauletta’s mechanics are how they should be, he can make gorgeous deep throws that lead his receiver to an even bigger gain. He proved it throughout his Richmond career and during the Senior Bowl, when he threw multiple dimes on deep throws.

That includes a 42-yard bomb to Tre’Quan Smith and a 75-yard touchdown to D.J. Chark that landed directly in his receiver’s hands before the LSU star turned upfield.

What makes Lauletta so compelling on a down-to-down basis is that he knows how to fit the ball into tight windows on short and intermediate throws. He leads his teammates in a direction that protects them from hits and puts the ball in spots it simply shouldn’t be able to fit in.

Whether he’s in the red zone or simply pursuing a first down, Lauletta makes quick decisions and accurate throws from the pocket—and, when need be, outside of it.
