Strength: Toughness

The Washington State Cougars may have racked up points, but don’t confuse that truth with stability. Luke Falk played behind a shaky offensive line and routinely took beatings from some of the more underrated defensive lines in the country.

If there’s one thing that you can say about Falk, it’s that he can take a hit and keep playing—both through the contact and after the fact.

Look no further than Falk’s performance against David Shaw‘s Stanford Cardinal. He was throwing while wrapped up, standing tall in the pocket to make throws in the face of impending contact, and taking big hits throughout the outing.

It’s bigger than numbers, but Falk finished that game 337 passing yards, three touchdowns, and  one interception—a low number given the pressure he faced.

This may not be important to every evaluator, but the fact that Falk can take a beating and keep on playing could be telling of his ability to handle clutch situations. The fact that Washington State was 4-0 in games decided by a single possession in 2017 supports that belief.

At the very least: Falk is the type of player whom an offensive line should be willing to fight for due to the toughness he displays under center.
