The Denver Broncos have so many options with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft that it’s really tough to gauge their thought process.

It’s been an interesting couple of weeks as far as the 2018 NFL Draft is concerned. There have been some surprising free agent signings, multiple trades and veterans released. All these moves have made it tough to get a feel for how the 1st round will shake out.

Maybe the most intriguing spot in the draft is the Denver Broncos at pick No. 5 overall. Their decision to sign Case Keenum could mean they punt on selecting a quarterback.

However, the way that deal is structured also means they could still be looking for a long-term answer at the position. There’s a possibility that one of the top quarterbacks are still available at No. 5 and that forces the Broncos to pull the trigger.

Even if we knew they were out of the quarterback market, it’s tough to figure out what direction they will head.

They could look to upgrade the offensive line with guard Quenton Nelson. His addition would giving them a potentially dominant interior offensive line group. It would also help them establish a ground attack which would benefit Keenum.

Saquon Barkley is in the mix as the Broncos don’t seem to be sold on either C.J. Anderson or Devontae Booker at running back.

Denver’s defense has had a lot of success over the past few years because of their cornerback talent. However, their depth took a major hit when they traded Aqib Talib to the Los Angeles Rams. This means someone like Minkah Fitzpatrick or Denzel Ward could also be in play.

We still have over a month of information that will come out to help us get a handle on the Broncos thought process. However, at this point they seem like a complete mystery.
