UCLA’s Scott Quessenberry is a 2018 NFL Draft center prospect who has some potential as a starter at the next level.

Scott Quessenberry is someone who is looking like a mid to late-round 2018 NFL Draft prospect. He won’t wow anyone with his physical skills, but shows good effort and feel for the game. His upside is limited but there’s a shot he earns a starting role down the road.

Quessenberry features a shorter build with a thick bubble. His low center of gravity helps him maintain leverage. However, his lack of length is a concern because he struggles gaining inside hands. The longer defensive linemen will give him trouble at the next level.

His ability to snap and step in one motion will help him overcome his lack of length. It will be important for him to routinely get off the snap and initiate the contact.

Quessenberry isn’t an overly powerful player and won’t generate a great push off the line of scrimmage. However, he does a good job getting into proper position and sealing the defender from the play. This is another reason why Quessenberry’s quick snapping skills are so important.

While Quessenberry isn’t a powerful player he is someone who fights for position. He is also someone who will work to the whistle which helps spring some big runs.

Quessenberry is a solid athlete who can throw some blocks on the move. The one problem is that he can get a little unbalanced and miss blocks in the open field. Quessenberry needs to remain under control when he’s on the move.

Overall, this is a prospect who will go in the later rounds but find a way to stick on a roster. We often see later-round center prospects develop into contributors. Quessenberry’s solid athleticism and feel for the game give him a shot to develop into a starter down the road.
