For all of his flaws, Josh Allen may be my favorite quarterback in this draft class. He has a giant arm, elite physical measurements, the necessary athleticism to make plays with his legs, and a willingness to accept and learn from his mistakes.

Thankfully for Allen, there are few teams that are better equipped to help him develop as a long-term project than the New York Jets.

Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell should provide Allen with an ideal combination of running backs to alleviate pressure early in his career. They should benefit from Allen’s presence, as well, as his arm strength should prevent teams from crowding the box.

With Jermaine Kearse, Allen would have a sure-handed wide receiver who posted the eighth-lowest (good thing) drop rate in the NFL last season.

The true appeal of this situation, however, is that Teddy Bridgewater and Josh McCown would alleviate immediate pressure. Allen could spend a full season developing behind two veterans instead of being forced to play before he’s ready to.

It would be ideal for Allen to play immediately, but even if he needs time to develop, the Jets would be equipped to provide him with that luxury.
