The Buffalo Bills traded up to No. 12 in the 2018 NFL Draft, but the organization isn’t done yet. Buffalo is reportedly attempting to move up to No. 2.

The New York Giants command headlines during every offseason, but the 2018 period has been even more riveting than usual. Odell Beckham Jr. is on the trading block, the organization has finally invested money in the offensive line, and the NFL Draft could produce a new franchise quarterback.

As the Giants weigh their options at No. 2 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, one possibility continues to surface: A trade.

New York is in a position to make an immediate splash, with a defense that should return to form and an offense that’s in the process of being retooled. Thus, some are of the belief that the Giants should prioritize the acquisition of multiple assets over the addition of one potential star.

According to Todd McShay of ESPN, the Buffalo Bills are actively attempting to convince the Giants to do so in a trade that would net Brandon Beane the No. 2 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.

"I’ve heard the Giants are also enamored of Darnold and would strongly consider taking him if Cleveland passed at No. 1. The Giants will entertain trade offers at No. 2 to move down if Darnold isn’t their pick, and I’ve heard the Bills are aggressively trying to jump ahead of the Jets at No. 3."

Based on the context of the situation, it would be more surprising if Buffalo opted against trading further up the board than if it managed to get a deal done.

Buffalo traded the No. 21 and No. 158 overall selections in the 2018 NFL Draft, as well as Pro Bowl offensive lineman Cordy Glenn, to trade up to No. 12. In doing so, it prioritized keeping the No. 22 pick over retaining the services of a key player.

Thus, it stands to reason that the Bills will aim to utilize the No. 12 and No. 22 draft choices to move into the top 10.

The purpose: Finding a franchise quarterback who can replace Tyrod Taylor, whom the Bills dealt to the Cleveland Browns mere weeks ago.

What supports said belief is that the Bills are currently slated to draft behind two division rivals: The New York Jets at No. 3 and the Miami Dolphins at No. 11. The odds of any of the top four quarterbacks sliding beyond No. 11 are slim.

One could debate if the Giants should trade back, but there’s a growing expectation that the Bills will trade up to find their franchise quarterback.
