Entering the 2018 NFL Draft cycle, there was a growing belief that Christian Kirk would be the second wide receiver off the board. The hype has been tempered in recent weeks, but the Dallas Cowboys should be as intrigued as ever by the Texas A&M star.

Dallas needs a player who can consistently move the chains, and in addition to having big play ability, Kirk could fill that very role.

Kirk is known for his ability to thrive off the deep ball, but he’s the complete package. He can make difficult plays on the ball at the end of both in and out routes, and is an elite target off of crossing patterns that ask him to evade defenders after the catch.

Kirk is indeed one of the best deep ball receivers in this draft class, as well, with the ability to get behind the safeties and turn a big gain into six points.

What makes Kirk so appealing to the Cowboys is that he has an outstanding track record in the red zone. He caught 26 touchdowns during his three seasons at Texas A&M, including the 10 he recorded during the 2017 season.

If Kirk is available in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, then the Cowboys should give serious consideration to selecting him.
