If you watched the Georgia Bulldogs on a consistent basis, then you’re likely aware of the fact that Nick Chubb was the more highly-touted running back. If you watched for NFL Draft purposes, however, then you were likely consistently impressed with Sony Michel.

Michel wasn’t receiving the respect he deserved until the College Football Playoff, but he’s a viable NFL prospect who could become a starter at the next level.

Michel has a compelling combination of strength and speed that every coordinator could find good use for. He has a powerful frame that he uses to shed one-arm tackles in the open field, as well as 4.5 speed that’s far more intriguing on film.

That much was on full display when he legitimately dominated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship Game before his coaching staff inexplicably stopped feeding him the ball.

Michel only recorded nine receptions in 2017, but he accumulated 48 between the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He can make plays out of the flat, run between the tackles, bounce outside, and even stand in and block for his quarterback.

Michel has three-down potential, as well as limited wear and tear due to his shared workload with Chubb—a compelling combination.
