D.J. Chark has more upside than proven ability, due in large part to the inconsistency that marred his four-year career with the LSU Tigers. It’s an unfortunate truth that will likely prevent some general managers from looking his way.

If the factor of long-term potential is weighed in these discussions, however, no one in the 2018 NFL Draft has a higher ceiling than Chark.

Chark has an elite combination of size and athleticism for a wide receiver. Standing at 6’3″ with 4.34 speed and an explosive 40.0″ vertical leap, Chark has a seemingly limitless catch radius and the speed to shred man coverage to pieces.

Chark was painfully inconsistent at the collegiate level, but if a team manages to help him discover consistency, he could be a legitimate star in the making.

Chark flashed his potential at the 2018 Senior Bowl, where he hauled in five receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown. It was only one game, but he made a wide array of catches that showed evaluators what he could become with the proper coaching.

Other prospects are safer bets to achieve success in the NFL, but Chark undoubtedly has the highest ceiling of any wide receiver in this draft class.
