Josh Rosen has some warts, but he has elite quarterback skills and should see the field early for the Arizona Cardinals.

It’s not often that you see a high-end quarterback prospect like Josh Rosen fall to the 10th overall pick. However, the presence of other quarterback prospects and durability concerns helped Rosen fall in the Arizona Cardinals lap.

Rosen not only comes with a strong throwing arm and good overall athleticism. He is smart football player who understands the position. His ability to make post and pre-snap reads is well above the other quarterbacks in this draft.

Arizona went from quarterback hell to landing a young franchise quarterback to build around. This isn’t great news for Sam Bradford, but there was no way the Arizona could count on his availability.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rosen named the starter at some point during training camp. He is the most pro-ready quarterback of the group.

The Cardinals roster might not be ideal for a rookie quarterback. Their offensive line is a major problem– especially at the offensive tackle spot. Larry Fitzgerald is back at wide receiver but the rest of the group is uninspiring.

David Johnson will again be the focal of the offense which will help take some pressure off Rosen. No other rookie quarterback will have the luxury of having someone like Johnson in their backfield.

Look for the Cardinals to do some more work on the offensive side of the ball in the rest of the draft. However, their draft capital is a little depleted due to this trade. That shouldn’t be much of a concern because the Cardinals now have a project-able future at quarterback.
