16. . Inside Linebacker. Virginia Tech Hokies. Tremaine Edmunds. 16. player

Tremaine Edmunds plays linebacker, which inevitably resulted in a slide down draft boards. Roquan Smith may have gone early, but the odds of two linebackers being top-10 draft picks were unfortunately slim based on recent trends.

Nevertheless, one can’t help but believe that the Buffalo Bills got an absolute steal at No. 16 overall with Virginia Tech Hokies linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.

Edmunds is going to be a 20-year-old rookie who has displayed the raw potential to be an All-Pro type of player. He’s a 6’5″ Goliath with massive arms, a powerful and chiseled 253-pound frame, and terrifying 4.54 speed to pull it all together.

With the physical tools to be a legitimately dominant force, it now comes down to if Buffalo can provide him with structure from a coaching perspective.

Edmunds has already proven to be a threat in virtually every phase of the game. Between his sophomore and junior seasons, he recorded 202 tackles, 30.5 tackles for loss, and 10.0 sacks, even forced three fumbles in 2017.

Linebackers often slide down draft boards, but that doesn’t change the fact that Edmunds is a top-five level talent with otherworldly potential.
