Mitch Trubisky should have plenty of weapons to utilize this year after the Chicago Bears add Anthony Miller.

Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears have been aggressive all offseason in surrounding Mitch Trubisky with talented football players. Chicago continued that trend in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft by adding Anthony Miller and James Daniels.

Daniels is expected to step in and compete for a starting job at either left guard or center. His spot will depend on where the Bears plan to keep Cody Whitehair. The Daniels pick should help create more room in the running game and keep pressure out of Trubisky’s face.

Things got really interesting with the Bears next pick– Miller. Chicago needed to trade a future 2n round pick and a 4th rounder this year in order to get back into the 2nd round.

This is a very steep price, but Chicago is obviously hoping that adding a playmaker like Miller will help put them over the edge. The Bears made some big additions at wide receiver with Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel, but Miller adds another element.

He has the size of a slot receiver, but plays with enough toughness to work on the outside. He should be a nice complement to Robinson whose game is more about size and toughness.

These additions on offense will get plenty of love, but we shouldn’t forget that the Bears added some big-time defensive help too. Roquan Smith was the No. 8 overall pick and is expected to be an immediate starter.

He’s an explosive linebacker who makes plays all over the field. So far, the Bears have added three players who should see significant playing time as rookies.
