The Cleveland Browns jumped out to a fast start in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft landing Austin Corbett and Nick Chubb.

It appears that the Cleveland Browns are showing a commitment to becoming a more physical team. Their decision to draft Austin Corbett and Nick Chubb adds two powerful football players. These two should work off each other really well.

Corbett is heading into the league expected to lineup at guard. In this spot, he’ll be able to use his quick 1st step and toughness to open running lanes. This is someone who fits for proper hand placement and wants to move people off the line of scrimmage.

He comes with some experience working at left tackle which could come in handy down the road. The Browns are still trying to settle things at the tackle spot after the retirement of Joe Thomas.

Chubb is a downhill runner who doesn’t waste time dancing in the backfield. He is someone who will quickly identify the open running lane and get his shoulders north and south. His commitment to keeping his feet moving helps him pick up yards after contact.

However, he isn’t just a power player as he also features good patience and vision. Chubb knows how to set up his blocks in order to maximize his running room.

It’s also important note that Chubb can also provide some help in the passing game. He is a reliable pass catcher and nice check down option. His strong build also gives him the ability to anchor in pass protection.

The Browns went with some finesse players in the 1st round and are now adding some toughness.
