Tre’Davious White, Cornerback

The Bills got an absolute steal in Tre’Davious White. He has already established himself as one of the top young cornerbacks in the league. His combination of size, quickness and instincts give him extremely high upside.

White is also a great fit for Sean McDermott’s system which allows his cornerbacks to be playmakers. McDermott wants his front-four to create most of the pressure on the quarterback and that protects his secondary.

Buffalo went out and signed Trent Murphy via free agency in a hope to bolster their pass rush. They are also hoping for a breakout season from Shaq Lawson.

The Bills secondary also receives strong play from the safety position with Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde. Their success played a role in White’s ability to make an easy transition into the NFL. In turn, the secondary as a whole figures to be a strength moving forward.

Either way, the Bills have to feel good about what they got in White. He gives them a No. 1 cornerback who is in the early part of his rookie contract. This means he’ll be in a Bills uniform for at least the next several years.

The fact that he’s under a reasonable contract will allow the Bills to spend money elsewhere.
