Dion Dawkins, Offensive Line

One of the reasons the Buffalo Bills were able to trade up to land Josh Allen is because they traded Cordy Glenn. This trade allowed them to jump up from pick No. 21 to No. 12 overall. The reason they felt comfortable moving someone as talented as Glenn is because of Dion Dawkins.

Last year’s 2nd round pick, Dawkins, quickly worked his way into the starting lineup. He was slated to open the year at guard but was forced to play left tackle due to an injury to Glenn.

His success as a rookie made the Bills comfortable enough to make him the team’s long-term answer at left tackle. This decision also likely had something to due with Glenn’s struggles staying healthy.

Dawkins will be counted on to be the blindside protector for Josh Allen. He still has dome developing to do, but has shown enough promise for the Bills to trust him with this all-important assignment.

However, should Dawkins falter at the left tackle spot he could potentially be shifted to another position. His ability as a run blocker is why the Bills seen him as a fit at guard. He could even make the move over to right tackle.
