Kentucky’s star running back Benny Snell Jr. is going pro but will play in the Wildcats Citrus Bowl.

Kentucky’s Junior running back Benny Snell Jr. has announced he will enter the 2019 NFL draft.

Snell like his teammate Josh Allen who will likely be a top ten overall pick in the Draft announced he will play in Kentucky’s Citrus Bowl match-up with Penn State on New Year’s day.

In his statement, Snell said he had “unfinished business” at Kentucky. That business is a historic one as with 108 yards Snell will pass Sonny Collins as Kentucky’s all-time leading rusher.

Snell is a big reason why a historically woeful Kentucky Football program was able to turn the tide and now have a chance for a ten win season.

Snell was a two-time All-SEC First team member (2017& 2018) and a third team All-American in 2018.

Snell rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his three seasons at Kentucky.

As a sophomore in 2017, Snell led the SEC with 19 rushing touchdowns and finished third in yards with 1,333.

Snell followed that up with another monster year in 2018 as so far he has ran for 1,330 yards with 14 touchdowns.

No game in his career was more significant than his performance against No. 14 Mississippi State on September 22nd of 2018.

With a win, Kentucky’s Football team would be ranked for the first time since 2007.

Snell ensured that the Cats would be ranked, rushing for 165 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-7 win. What was most impressive about the performance was that it was against a Mississippi State defensive line that is likely to have two players drafted early on in the 2019 draft.

Snell’s historic college career will have one more chapter but, after that, he looks to help improve an NFL’s backfield.

Snell will likely be a late second or early third down pick which could turn into a steal for whichever team lands him.
