Philadelphia Eagles

Draft Needs: CB, RB, OL, DT

The Eagles haven’t been anything close to the team that came into 2018 as defending super bowl champions. The Eagles will fail to repeat as NFC East champions and are fighting for a playoff spot. The team has had their fair of problems on both sides of the ball, so the draft will be necessary for the team to return to postseason glory.

The Eagles most significant need is at the cornerback position. They’ve had their share of injuries there but can surely still use some depth. Luckily it’s a loaded draft when it comes to cornerbacks, and Georgia’s DeAndre Baker may be around when the Eagles make their selection in the middle of the first round.

The Eagles have a significant need at running back. They don’t have a true number one back, and Jay Ajayi will be a free agent. The Eagles would be wise to find a backfield mate for Carson Wentz and take off some of the pressure on the young signal-caller.

The Eagles offensive line is aging with Jason Peters specifically at the end of his career. Expect the Eagles to add at least one offensive lineman this offseason

Defensively, the Eagles have aging defenders on the defensive line and could use an injection of youth. A player like Alabama’s Raekwon Davis makes sense for the Eagles.

The Eagles aren’t far from the team that won super bowl 52. However, the Eagles of 2019 will look much different than that team. If the Eagles hope to take advantage of Carson Wentz’ team-friendly rookie contract, they will need to restock the team this offseason.
