With the NFL playoffs rapidly approaching, it is time to look ahead to the 2019 NFL draft. We are going to take a look at team needs for the NFC North.
The NFC North has been a historically dominant division in the NFL, and these four teams may be on the verge or reviving their glory years. The NFC North has some of the most intense rivalries in football, and house superstars all over the division.
The Green Bay Packers have one of the best players in the game on their roster in Aaron Rodgers, and despite the fact that they are in the midst of coaching turnover, Green Bay should be a competitive team in 2019.
The Minnesota Vikings added franchise quarterback Kirk Cousins and paired him with an outstanding defense and what may be the best receiving duo in the NFL. The Vikings and their fanbase are thirsty for a Lombardi trophy, and 2019 could be their year.
The Chicago Bears, with the acquisition of Khalil Mack, are suddenly Super Bowl contenders. Chicago has paired two of the brightest football minds in Matt Nagy and Vic Fangio to create one of the most balanced teams in the league. Should the Bears fall short of a Lombardi this year, they will look to add the finishing pieces to their roster.
The Detroit Lions-well, the Detroit Lions have had a rough season and are currently 5-10. However, with Matthew Stafford at quarterback Detroit could return to being the playoff team they were not too long ago. The Motor City franchise will need to find some quality players if they hope to make a run while Stafford is still in the prime of his career.
The point is the NFC North is suddenly loaded. Two teams will likely be in the playoffs, and the two other teams are just a couple moves away from being a contender.
Is the 2019 NFL Draft their answer? Can the Bears and the Vikings get even richer? We are going to take at the needs of each team in the NFC North and how they can improve through the draft.
