The have Arizona Cardinals the first pick. Find out where the rest of the non-playoffs teams will pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft.

The NFL regular season is in the books. For 12 teams a Vince Lombardi Trophy is in sight as they advance to the postseason. For the other 20 teams, it’s officially time to flip the calendars to 2019 and look ahead to the 2019 NFL Draft where they now know where they will pick in the first round.

It’s the Arizona Cardinals followed by the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets to round out the top three. The first twenty picks is littered with teams who are searching to get into the playoffs, and will put their hopes into their first round selection to help get them there.

This group is interesting in that none of the top 5 teams have a glaring need at quarterback. The Jets, Cardinals, and 49ers all added quarterbacks last offseason. The Raiders are locked into a hefty Derek Carr contract, and the Buccaneers have announced that Jameis Winston will be on the team in 2019.  That means that we may not see a quarterback taken in the top 5, unless a team jumps up for who a franchise signal caller they believe in.

The 2019 NFL Draft is stocked with defensive talent, and there is sure to be an early run on defensive players as teams hope to find defensive play makers. While most of the talent is on the defensive side of the ball, the NFL is still a quarterback driven league. The teams in the top 5 may look to bolster their offensive personnel and help out their franchise quarterback.

For these teams, it all starts in the first round. Teams will be looking to find a player they will build their team around. This is where teams look for their cornerstone players that can turn struggling franchises around.

We’re still a long way away from April, so this order may change, but these teams are all looking to add pieces to compete. There is always a lot of movement in the top 20 picks, so consider this all very fluid.

Let’s take a look at the first round draft order for the 2019 NFL Draft and name a couple of possible prospects to be taken in each respective spot.
