Evaluating the biggest draft needs for the teams residing in the NFC South, and potential targets for each franchise in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The 2019 NFL Draft will be here before we know it. The NFC South may have been a one-team race this season but most years that isn’t the case. In 2017 the South sent three of it’s four teams to the playoffs (Falcons, Panthers, Saints) and two of the last three teams to reach the super bowl out of the NFC (Panthers and Falcons) are from the division. The teams in the NFC South will look to add players in the 2019 NFL Draft that will put them back on top and into the playoffs.

The division has the potential to have four quality teams if every team fixes their biggest holes in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Buccaneers extended their playoff drought to 11 years. Despite poor quarterback play their offense ranked among the best in the NFL. The Tampa Bay defense, however, was among the worst.

Atlanta’s 2018 was a disappointment. Their defense struggled as once star player Vic Beasley had an underwhelming season and their team limped into the season with several injuries.

Carolina started the year red hot but lost seven straight games falling out of the playoff picture. There were also signs of possible decline in franchise quarterback Cam Newton who battled injury throughout the year.

Finally, the Saints easily ran away with the division posting the best record in football at 13-3. However, there are still significant needs heading into 2018 and the Saints will look to prepare for a future without Drew Brees.

Here’s a look at each team’s biggest needs to address in the 2019 NFL draft.
