Several prospects failed to make a positive impression at the 2019 NFL combine and have increased the pressure on their soon-to-come Pro Days.

The 2019 NFL combine is in the books, and with it came several breakthrough performances for prospects like Notre Dame WR Miles Boykin and Minnesota linebacker Blake Cashman.

But with good performances also come some bad ones, many of which are hard to recover from for once-promising prospects. This year’s combine is no exception and has put several players’ backs against the proverbial wall for their on-campus workout.

Here’s a look at four prospects who need a huge showing over the next few weeks.

Coming into the combine, I had Holyfield in the mix to be the second running back drafted. That’s no longer the case.

Holyfield ran an embarrassing 4.78 40-yard dash and showed a complete lack of explosion with his 29.5-inch vertical jump. And it’s not like he’s an overly big running back; he weighed in at 5-10, 217 pounds.

On tape, Holyfield presents as a light-footed bulldozer who can churn tough yards between the tackles through a combination of patience, vision and short-area burst. Long speed was never in his arsenal, but the fact he didn’t at least register a time in the 4.6’s is a huge red flag.

The NFL is all about speed, and running backs need to have at least a sliver of ability to rip off a long run from time to time. Holyfield’s combine workout gave no indication he’ll be able to do that as a pro.
