Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams will be a busy man as the weeks count down toward the 2019 NFL draft.

Things are looking great for Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams’ 2019 NFL draft stock.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Crimson Tide standout will meet with every team picking in the top seven, and has already had dinner with the Giants, who hold the sixth pick overall.

Williams is a lock to be selected in the top 10 and he could make a late surge for consideration as the top overall pick. His game has been compared to Warren Sapp and Aaron Donald for his quick penetrating style of play as an interior defensive lineman. Those comparisons aren’t too far off, either.

Williams finished the 2018 season with 71 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks, numbers that actually come short of telling the full story of how disruptive he is. His best fit is as a three-technique in a 4-3 defensive scheme, one the Giants are expected to deploy in 2019. He’d be a perfect fit for Big Blue.

Other teams in the top seven who would make a ton of sense are the Raiders at No. 4, who need all the help they can get at knocking a quarterback off his platform, and the 49ers at No. 2, who despite having several talented defensive linemen already on the roster would be hard-pressed to pass up on a player with Williams’ upside.

In fact, if it wasn’t for QB Kyler Murray’s late sprint up the draft board, Williams would probably be the most likely candidate to be the Cardinals’ choice with the first-overall pick.

And you never know; he still has plenty of time to impress before the card is turned in.
