Round 2, Pick No. 33: Jerry Tillery | DL | Notre Dame

Tillery is a really interesting player in this year’s class. In fact, he could end up being a first-rounder when it’s all said and done. He’s a very good athlete for his size (6-6, 295 pounds) and has the kind of play strength defensive line coaches will love. He’s not just a power player, either. He has enough initial quickness to penetrate the offensive line and make a play in the backfield.

Tillery played in 12 games for the Fighting Irish last season and finished the year with 28 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He’d be a welcome addition to the Cardinals’ defensive front.

Round 3, Pick No. 65: David Edwards | OT | Wisconsin

Whether it’s Kyler Murray or Josh Rosen, the Cardinals need to upgrade their offensive line in this year’s draft. And while Edwards isn’t a premier tackle prospect, he does have starter’s upside.

The 6-6, 308-pounder is a veteran of 31 starts at right tackle and will give Arizona options if D.J. Humphries or the recently acquired Marcus Gilbert don’t work out. Translation: There’s a really good chance Edwards becomes a starter sooner than later.

Edwards has to get stronger as he matures as an NFL player, but his footwork and overall athletic ability (he’s a former quarterback and basketball player) will help him as he continues to evolve into a well-schooled lineman.
