Round 4, Pick 103: Drue Tranquill | LB | Notre Dame

Arizona signed Jordan Hicks to a four-year, $34 million contract in free agency, but they could still use help at linebacker to round out the depth chart and to bring more physicality to special teams. Tranquill is the perfect candidate to fill that job description.

Tranquill appeared in all 13 games last season and registered 86 tackles, nine tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He has a great nose for the football and his 2019 NFL Combine performance proved he’s a quality athlete; he ran a 4.57 40-yard dash and had a 37.5-inch vertical jump.

Will Tranquill ever develop into an All-Pro? Probably not. But he’ll be an asset as a high-energy thumper who will make the most of his opportunities.

Round 5, Pick 139: Jakobi Meyers | WR | North Carolina State

There’s a really good chance the Cardinals will use an earlier pick on a wide receiver, but with the draft falling the way it has here, Meyers in the fifth round offers great value.

The 6-2, 203-pounder played second-fiddle to NC State teammate Kelvin Harmon, but his NFL upside shouldn’t be overlooked. He had 92 catches for 1,047 yards and three touchdowns in 2018 and often looked like the most explosive playmaker on the Wolfpack offense.

The most promising aspect of Meyers’ projection is he’s still a young wide receiver; he’s only been playing the position for three years. His best football is in front of him, and he could end up being a fifth-round steal.
