Complete seven-round 2019 NFL Mock Draft for the San Francisco 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers didn’t have the season they envisioned in 2018, largely because of the torn ACL suffered by QB Jimmy Garoppolo early in the year. Add to that the knee injury suffered by RB Jerrick McKinnon in training camp, and the 49ers offense was dead on arrival.

This isn’t a bad team, however, and they’ll in some ways be unjustly enriched with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. They have a chance to add a high-impact starter with that selection, or, in the alternative, GM John Lynch could choose to trade down to acquire more assets to round out the roster.

Regardless, and barring a complete meltdown by Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan, San Francisco is poised to be one of draft weekend’s winners.

Here’s a look at what their 2019 NFL draft haul could look like when it’s all said and done.

Round 1, Pick 2: Josh Allen | Edge | Kentucky

The 49ers haven’t been paired with Josh Allen in many mock drafts, but there’s a chance they could end up with the SEC sack master if the Cardinals change course and go with Nick Bosa at No. 1 overall. It’s not totally out of the question, so fans in the Bay area need to get acquainted with Allen’s game.

Allen had a monster season in 2018 when he registered 17 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss, and it wasn’t a one-season fluke either. He had seven sacks in each of the prior two seasons.

Allen’s been compared to Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr because of his multi-faceted skill set. He has a chance to become a game-changing pass-rusher in the NFL, but he can also be trusted in coverage because of this top-tier athleticism and smooth movement skills.

With a strong defensive line already in place, the 49ers will be more than willing to add an edge presence like Allen.
