Round 3, Pick 70: Blake Cashman | LB | Minnesota

Blake Cashman was one of the 2019 NFL combine’s standout stars. He ran a 4.50 40-yard dash and jumped an impressive 37.5 inches in the vertical. His test results caused talent evaluators to go back to the tape in an effort to figure out why there wasn’t more buzz about him before his workout in Indianapolis.

At 6-1 and 237 pounds, Cashman is a bit of an undersized linebacker, but that doesn’t matter all that much to the Buccaneers. Cashman profiles as a potential replacement for Kwon Alexander, who signed a massive free-agent contract with the 49ers and is a solid consolation prize for the Devin White truthers.

Is he ready to make a major impact right away? Probably not. But I wouldn’t bet against Cashman being the kind of player who can outwork the competition in training camp and begin his career as a first-teamer, no matter where he’s drafted.

Cashman had 104 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in 2018.
