Round 5, Pick 147: Rodney Anderson | RB | Oklahoma

This is a pick that should get the Tampa Bay fan base excited. All things considered, Anderson is one of the most physically talented running backs in the entire draft. His injury history is too long to ignore, however, and it will push Anderson deep into Day 3.

As a result, a team like the Buccaneers will benefit big time.

Anderson appeared in just two games last season before tearing his ACL. In 2017, he ran for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns and added another five scores as a receiver. He’s big (6-0, 224) and fast, although there won’t be any official speed times on him before the NFL draft rolls around.

Tampa Bay won’t give up on last year’s second-round pick Ronald Jones just yet, but adding a player like Anderson to the roster gives the offense a fantastic backup plan in case Jones (and Peyton Barber) never evolve into big-time playmakers.
