2019 NFL Draft: Buccaneers 7-round mock draft
By Bryan Perez
Round 6, Pick 208: Sheldrick Redwine | SAF | Miami
The Buccaneers add more help to the defensive backfield here with Sheldrick Redwine, who put on a show at the 2019 NFL combine. He ran a 4.44 40-yard dash and jumped an incredible 39-inches in the vertical. He has experience at both cornerback and safety during his time with the Hurricanes. He was an honorable mention All-ACC performer in 2018 after registering 64 tackles, three interceptions and three sacks.
Tampa Bay needs more juice at safety and while Redwine isn’t exactly a sure-thing, he’d bring more athleticism to the position group and at least give the Buccaneers another player with upside to compete for starting reps.
Round 7, Pick 215: Ryan Pope | OT | San Diego State
It never hurts to swing at an offensive tackle at this point in the NFL Draft. And while Ryan Pope doesn’t project as the kind of player who can hold down a long-term starting job, there’s a lot of value in adding potential swing tackles to the roster.
Pope has 24 collegiate starts and was the every-game starter at right tackle for San Diego State in 2018. He’d be an ideal practice squad candidate while he matures and develops into an NFL player.
