46. . DT. Clemson. Christian Wilkins. 26. player

The Colts will take a long look at WR Deebo Samuel here, but in order to take the next step from playoff team to Super Bowl contender, they need to beef up their defense. The best option available (who slid a bit in this mock) is Clemson’s Christian Wilkins. He’ll be a plug-and-play starter from the first training camp practice on who’s bringing a winning mentality to the locker room.

28. . EDGE. Clemson. Clelin Ferrell. 27. player

The Raiders do the double-dip at edge rusher in this mock draft, and the fans will rejoice. After an abysmal year rushing the passer in 2018, Oakland will unleash Josh Allen and Clelin Ferrell after AFC West quarterbacks in 2019. As long as one of them pan out, it’s a win for the Raiders.

Dalton Risner. 28. player. 13. . OL. Kansas State

Dalton Risner is one of my favorite prospects in this year’s class and he has a really good chance of coming off the board much higher than this. His experience and physical dominance at the collegiate level will appeal to teams just outside the top 10, but in this mock, he becomes one of Philip Rivers’ most important teammates as he enters the twilight years of his career.

. CB. Penn State. Amani Oruwariye. 29. player. 124

Amani Oruwariye is a versatile defensive back who isn’t going to rely on a system or scheme to be successful. He’s solid against the run and has the kind of size and strength to re-route defenders when lining up in press coverage. He’s a defensive back coach’s ideal prospect, and with the Chiefs in need of more talent in their secondary, he just feels like a perfect fit.

. WR. South Carolina. Deebo Samuel. 30. player. 49

The Packers continue their Aaron Rodgers-themed first round and add another talented weapon on offense in Deebo Samuel. Samuel is extremely underrated in this year’s receiver class and could end up the best pro when we look back at this draft three years from now. Add the element of Rodgers to his pro outlook, and we could have fireworks at Lambeau Field.

Florida. Jachai Polite. 31. player. 51. . EDGE

This is a classic Rams pick. Jachai Polite has first-round ability on tape, but he bombed the NFL combine (on the field and during interviews) and has experienced an extreme dip in his draft stock. But the league will always value guys who can get after the quarterback, and if you judge Polite strictly by his tape, Los Angeles is getting a bargain. And the rich always seem to get richer, don’t they?

32. player. 47. . TE. Alabama. Irv Smith, Jr.

Irv Smith is probably more of an early Day-2 prospect, but the Patriots can’t afford to wait on him considering the massive void created by Rob Gronkowski’s retirement. Smith can step right in and contribute as a receiver in 2019 and will help the Patriots in their quest to continue winning now.
