Round 2, Pick 37: Charles Omenihu | DL | Texas

Omenihu is a good fit for the Giants’ 4-3 scheme as a defensive end, something they are sorely lacking right now. He’s rising up the draft board and could end up a first-round pick by the time draft weekend rolls around, but for now, this looks like a sweet spot for him.

Omenihu had a breakout season in 2018 with 9.5 sacks and he has the kind of length (36-inch arms) that is rare for his position. He’s going to be an impact player in the NFL, even if he’s not filling up the stat sheet like some of the higher profile edge defenders are expected to in their pro careers.

The Giants’ best teams have featured defensive ends like Omenihu. This feels like a natural fit.
