Round 7, Pick 236: Chris Brown | iOL | Charlotte

Much like the Preston Williams pick in the sixth round, the Jaguars swing for the fences on Chris Brown, a small-school offensive lineman, in Round 7.

Brown isn’t a player who’s expected to make an immediate push for a starting job and could potentially use a season or two on the practice squad to adjust to NFL speed and power, but there’s enough upside in his game to warrant a late-round pick.

Plus, by selecting a player at what’s becoming a critically important position in today’s NFL, the Jaguars can eliminate worrying about the rush to sign players at or around Brown’s skill level in the undrafted free agent frenzy.
