4 surprises from Daniel Jeremiah’s updated Top 50 prospects
By Bryan Perez
NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah published his updated Top-50 prospects Wednesday and it wasn’t without a few surprises. Here are four somewhat curious rankings by Jeremiah as we inch closer to the 2019 NFL draft.
Josh Jacobs is a top-10 player in the class
I like Josh Jacobs and think he can be a very productive starting running back in the NFL, but there’s no way he’s one of the ten best players — overall — in the 2019 NFL draft.
Daniel Jeremiah has him ranked No. 8 on his big board, which suggests he thinks Jacobs will be an elite NFL starter. Jeremiah describes him as a “special talent,” and while there’s no denying he possesses fringe first-round worthy traits, he’s a far cry from recent top-end prospects like Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliott.
Those guys were special. Jacobs isn’t.
