Round 3, Pick 71: Dawson Knox, TE, Ole Miss

Add Dawson Knox to the list of unbelievably talented tight ends in the 2019 NFL draft, even if his box score at Ole Miss doesn’t say so.

Knox caught just 15 passes for 285 yards in nine games last season and didn’t record a touchdown during his collegiate career. But he was a product (or victim) of the offense and with so many talented receivers around him (D.K. Metcalf, A.J. Brown, etc.), his stats were naturally going to suffer.

Still, he has the athletic profile to be a legitimate weapon in the NFL. Knox ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at his pro day in March, a time that would’ve been one of the top performances at the NFL combine.
