The Green Bay Packers own two first-round picks in the 2019 NFL draft and it will be a complete shock if they don’t make a heavy investment in helping Aaron Rodgers on draft weekend.

The 2019 NFL draft can’t arrive fast enough for the Green Bay Packers, who are in the midst of a drama-filled offseason headlined by Mike McCarthy’s unceremonious departure and a narrative around Aaron Rodgers fit for a WWE villain.

Draft weekend is exactly what Green Bay needs. It serves as a cleanse for every franchise; it brings the hope of a new draft class filled with players who just might become franchise saviors.

The Packers are in great shape this year with two first-round picks (No.s 12 and 30) and three selections in the top 75. All four draft picks will have a chance to be impact players.

Green Bay should use its first-rounders on offensive weapons in an effort to prolong Rodgers’ era of dominance but with a draft so loaded with defensive line and edge-rushing talent, they could be tempted to add more to their front-seven.

The Packers are also a strong candidate to trade up in the first round. If they believe there’s a must-have talent who’s certain to come off the board in the top 10, they can package both of their first-rounders and have little trouble moving into striking distance.

There’s also the elephant in the room: Is this the year Green Bay adds a developmental quarterback to the roster to stash behind Rodgers as his eventual replacement? They tried with Brett Hundley a few years ago, but it felt like a reach at the time and was a few years too early. There will be a handful of solid quarterbacks on Day 2 for them to choose from, and whoa boy, that would add a nice dramatic twist to the summer.

Here’s a look at what a three-round draft haul could be for the Packers later this month.
