Round 2, Pick 48: Jeffery Simmons, DL, Mississippi State

Jeffery Simmons is a first-round talent with a Day-3 injury. A lot will depend on his medical re-check; if teams feel confident in his ability to contribute in some capacity in 2019, he could end up being a late-first-round pick. But with what we know right now, it seems more likely he’ll slide into the early-to-middle portion of the second round.

This would be a home run for the Dolphins, who can draft and stash Simmons for 2020. He’d represent a cornerstone piece for Miami’s rebuilding efforts and would essentially be an extra first-round pick next year.
