Round 3, Pick 78: Michael Deiter, OL, Wisconsin

The Dolphins get the offensive line help they desperately need in the third round with the selection of Michael Deiter, who’s a solid-yet-unspectacular prospect with starter’s upside.

Deiter would make a ton of sense for Miami because he’s a versatile lineman. He projects as a guard in the NFL, but he does have a season’s worth of starting experience at left tackle and played well enough at that spot to earn First-Team All-Big 10 honors. He doesn’t have the length required to be a surefire tackle in the pros, but for a team like the Dolphins who simply need talent up front, Deiter fits the bill.
