Round 1, Pick 16: Jonah Williams, OL, Alabama

Forget all the naysayers who are calling Jonah Williams a guard. Sure, he’ll have little trouble kicking inside and playing either guard or center at a Pro Bowl level, but this dude is going to be a high-end starter at offensive tackle in the NFL just like he was over the last 44 games at Alabama.

His critics will point to his length — or lack thereof — for his move inside, but it’s nonsense. Williams’ arms measured in at 33 5/8 inches, just a smidge under the magic 34-inch mark. But his tape doesn’t lie: Williams is an edge player who will hold up well against NFL speed and power.

The Panthers will waste little time handing in the pick if Williams slides this far. There’s some late buzz surrounding Williams, however, and he could be ascending back where he belongs in the top 10 picks.
