Round 3, Pick 77: Juan Thornhill, Saf, Virginia

The 2019 NFL draft can’t be all about offense for the Panthers, and they’ll turn their attention to the secondary here in the third round.

Virginia safety Juan Thornhill is an intriguing prospect who can help fill the void left by the departures of Mike Adams and Colin Jones.

Thornhill plays safety like a cornerback and would bring some playmaking upside to the backend of the Panthers’ defense. He finished his career at Virginia with 13 interceptions.
