2019 NFL Mock Draft: Final Edition
By Bryan Perez
This will be the first real curveball of the draft, but it’s a smart pick by the Giants. It doesn’t matter who’s playing quarterback if they’re constantly under pressure. Williams is the best offensive lineman in this year’s draft and will be a plug-and-play starter (yes, at tackle) for New York.
The Jaguars will draft the best player available at No. 7 in Hockenson, who also fits a big need on offense. Nick Foles loves passing to tight ends and Jacksonville doesn’t have anyone on the roster with nearly as much upside as the Iowa Hawkeye.
The Lions won’t compete in the NFC North if they can’t slow down Aaron Rodgers, Mitchell Trubisky and Kirk Cousins, hence the selection of Burns, who possesses the most exciting combination of quick-twitch traits as an edge rusher in this class.
Bills QB Josh Allen made more than his fair share of highlight-reel runs as a rookie in 2018, but if Buffalo wants to become a playoff contender, he needs to make plays from the pocket. In order to do so, he needs help along the offensive line. Enter Taylor, who’s the most natural tackle in this year’s draft.
Vic Fangio loves building his defense around playmaking linebackers, and White projects as the best in class in 2019. While I have my concerns about him as a finisher, Fangio will bet on his ability to coach him up. If he pans out, White will be a star.
