D.K. Metcalf. 21. player. 36. . WR. Ole Miss

Metcalf appeared destined for the top 10 after his scintillating NFL combine performance, but his stock has slowly settled into the mid-to-late first-round range. The Seahawks won’t mind, as they finally add an alpha-receiver for Russell Wilson.

Edge. Mississippi St.. Montez Sweat. 22. player. 26.

If it wasn’t for Sweat’s heart condition, he’d probably be a top 10 pick. The Ravens need edge defender help after Za’Darius Smith signed with the Packers in free agency. Enter Sweat, who’ll be a Day-1 starter in Baltimore.

Cody Ford. 23. player. 10. . OT. Oklahoma

Whether the Texans select Ford at No. 23 or not, you can be certain the 2019 NFL draft will be all about the offensive line. Ford is a high-caliber offensive tackle who can help Houston finally keep DeShaun Watson upright.

player. 28. . CB. Washington. Byron Murphy. 24

The Raiders hit another home run in the first round with the selection of Murphy, who like Quinnen Williams at No. 4, will be an instant upgrade on defense and an immediate starter for Jon Gruden and company.

. Edge. Michigan. Rashan Gary. 25. player. 54

Gary is another defensive prospect who will slide down the first round because of an injury concern. His shoulder is banged up and may require offseason surgery. Shoulder injuries are worrisome and will cause Gary to fall to No. 25, enriching the Eagles beyond their draft slot’s true value.

26. player. 46. . Iowa St.. WR. Hakeem Butler

This would be my favorite pick of the entire round. Butler is arguably the best all-around receiver in the draft. He’s huge, he’s fast and he’s agile. And he’ll have Andrew Luck throwing to him? Wow.
