The experts over at NFL.com took their best swing at who they thought won the 2019 NFL draft.

Grading the 2019 NFL draft is almost as tedious as writing a mock draft because of all the uncertainty involved. No one truly knows how each player will perform until the pads go on and games start to count, but it’s a fun exercise to review and recap each team’s performance and peg which clubs won — and which ones lost — the NFL draft.

NFL.com polled a panel of experts and asked which team they thought had the best draft haul this year, and the answers were split:

Gil Brandt: San Francisco 49ers

Nate Burleson: Washington Redskins

Adam Rank: Oakland Raiders

MJD: New England Patriots

Terrell Davis: Buffalo Bills

Charley Casserly: Green Bay Packers

Rank’s choice of the Raiders is an odd one. Oakland reached on Clelin Ferrell with the fourth overall pick, selected RB Josh Jacobs at No. 24 and drafted safety Johnathan Abram at No. 27. All solid players, but none of them project as All-Pros. Rank obviously feels differently:

"So have your fun with the Raiders now, because we are going to look back on this draft much differently by this time next year. Or you will; I already know this was a really good draft."

Of the experts’ choices, the one I agree with most is Davis; the Bills crushed it this year.

Buffalo added the defensive prospect with arguably the highest upside in the class in Ed Oliver at No. 9 overall and Cody Ford will be an instant upgrade along the offensive line. Ford was considered a first-round pick throughout much of the draft season. To land him in the second round qualifies as an absolute steal.

Truth be told, we won’t know who really won the 2019 NFL draft until three seasons from now. By then, this draft class will have turned from rookies with promising futures to veterans with defined careers.
