The 2020 NFL Draft may be 11 months away, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start evaluating next year’s crop of prospects who could be destined for the first round.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper published his first Big Board of the 2020 draft cycle, and it wasn’t without some early surprises.

Alabama has a strong presence in the top five, and teams searching for pass rush and offensive tackle help will certainly like the makeup of the first 10 names on his list.

Here are five takeaways from Kiper’s board.

Jerry Jeudy is the top overall player entering the 2019 season

This is an easy call if you ask me. No prospect in the 2020 draft class has as much game-changing upside as Jeudy, whose talent is already being compared to Odell Beckham, Jr. It isn’t a crazy comp, either.

Jeudy is a fluid route-runner who has elite speed and change-of-direction ability. Barring injury, he’s going to be one of the first three players selected next April and will probably be the highest-graded non-quarterback in the class.
