The New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins all had interesting first rounds in the 2020 NFL draft, and the Dallas Cowboys raised eyebrows with their first pick in Round 2. But which selection for each team requires a do-over?

The 2019 NFL draft offered a bunch of surprise picks and no team is immune from criticism. In this do-over series, we’ll take a look at each club’s performance and determine if there was a better prospect who either provided more value or filled a bigger need in a particular round.

First, a few rules.

We won’t know how each draft class truly pans out until a few years from now. So this assessment is based on pre-draft scouting reports and what the team’s roster composition was at the time. Sure, if they made a few moves since the draft concluded, we’ll take that into consideration. But for the most part, rosters have remained pretty stable.

We’re only replacing the player who was picked with a player selected after him. It would be foolish to suggest a team should’ve taken someone who was already off the board at the time they selected, so we’re not factoring in trade-up scenarios.

Let’s kick this off with the NFC East and one of the most controversial draft classes this year, the New York Giants.
