2019 NFL Draft Do-Overs: AFC East
By Bryan Perez
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins had a nice draft class in 2019, headlined by the trade for QB Josh Rosen in the second round. He’ll make or break this group, and if I were a betting man, I’d say he’s going to make 2019 a memorable year for the fanbase.
Where the Dolphins could’ve done better was in the third round, where they selected Wisconsin offensive lineman Michael Deiter. Don’t get me wrong: Deiter is a solid player and he should find himself in the starting lineup this year. But Miami could’ve improved their secondary by selecting Michigan State cornerback, Justin Layne.
Layne is a wide receiver convert who has the height and length profile that’s hard to find at the position. He’s already enjoyed a high level of success in a short time at the position, and with NFL coaching, has a chance to be a really good starter on the next level.
