Bottom line

No one is suggesting Darrell Henderson will be able to replace everything Todd Gurley does for the Rams’ offense when he’s off the field, but his production at the collegiate level and his eerily similar skill set to former Titans’ 2,000-yard rusher Chris Johnson suggests he’s going to be a very successful NFL running back.

So, what’s a reasonable end-of-year stat line for Henderson? Assuming Gurley plays a full 16 games, Henderson should end 2019 with roughly 700 yards rushing and five touchdowns, several of which will be of the ‘wow’ variety. I expect him to average around 5.5 yards per carry and set the table for a big discussion about Gurley’s future in Los Angeles heading into the 2020 season.
