Foster Moreau – Raiders

For all the pieces the Raiders added to their offense in the offseason they still lack quality established options at tight end, having lost Jared Cook in free agency.

They waited until the fourth round to address the position in the draft and there is unlikely to be much hype around Moreau, who had only 52 catches in his college career with LSU.

That was largely down to him being relied on heavily as a blocker by the Tigers, but Moreau tested extremely well prior to the draft – he had the third-highest SPARQ rating of any tight end in the 2019 class – and demonstrated extremely strong hands and the ability to make catches outside of his frame when he was targeted.

Darren Waller, Derek Carrier and Luke Willson are the other tight ends competing for playing time. Moreau should not fear a position battle with any of that trio and, should he stand out in the training camp, could well get the chance to showcase much more of his athletic talents in a Jon Gruden offense in which bigger name receivers will demand most of the attention from opposing defenses.
