2020 NFL Draft Watchlist: Running Backs
By Seth Steere
3) Ke’Shawn Vaughn- Vanderbilt
The only senior that will make the list, Ke’Shawn Vaughn is a highlight reel waiting to happen. He’s the perfect recipe for big plays. He has speed and the vision to identify cracks in the defense.
Vaughn may not appear like the strongest runner, but he runs with good pad level that when combined with his speed and explosiveness turns into some deceptive power.
He’s at his best in space, but he can run between the tackles as well. He’s like a human pinball. He bounces off defenders with ease.
Despite not having big receiving numbers, he projects as a prospect who can contribute in the passing game. A reason his production as a receiver was down last season was, admittedly, because of the quarterback play. It should be much improved in 2019. Vanderbilt added Riley Neal from Ball St., which is a major upgrade. Having someone who can get to his check-downs and actually make that throw should help Vaughn quite a bit.
If Vanderbilt is able to get Vaughn involved in the passing game more next year, it will only help his stock, and perhaps push him into first-round conversations.
