Alize Mack, Tight End, New Orleans Saints

Round 7 Pick 17 (Pick 231)

Alize Mack was one of the more explosive pass-catching tight ends in the draft class. The problem is that tight ends are asked to be solid blockers as well. That is an area where Mack is greatly lacking. If you look at him as a big, glorified receiver, however, you will not be disappointed.

For as explosive as the offense is in New Orleans, they really don’t utilize many proven pass catchers for Drew Brees. Yes, Michael Thomas is one of the best receivers in the league. And yes, Jared Cook should be a dynamic new target. But outside of those two guys, the Saints mainly utilize role players and maximize their abilities. Mack is another role player that I can see Sean Payton using as a glorified receiver who will create a lot of mismatches, especially in the red zone.
