Maxx Crosby, Defensive End, Oakland Raiders

Round 4 Pick 4 (Pick 106 Overall)

Maxx Crosby (Eastern Michigan) was an interesting case for me to study throughout the draft process. I initially wasn’t sure why he declared for the NFL Draft as an underclassman, but the more I watched his tape, the more I liked him.

And then he put on an absolute show at the NFL Combine. Still, he is raw and will need to work on his technique to reach his full potential.

It’s probably widely known by know that Oakland was able to generate a grand total of 13 sacks last season after dealing Khalil Mack to Chicago. Needless to say, they are looking for all the pass rush help they can get. Even after taking Clelin Ferrell in the first round, there will be plenty of opportunities for Crosby to get on the field early and often and learn on the job. His athletic ability alone should allow him to generate a nice handful of sacks as a rookie.
